The Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Pensacola will join forces for a performance combining breathtaking dance with live instrumental music. The performance will feature Ballet Pensacola’s dancers joined onstage by a septet of PSO musicians.

See the Music, Hear the Dance includes landmark Impressionist works from renowned French composers, including Maurice Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro. Carrying the French tradition forward is Golden Fish Under the Arched Bridge by the living American composer, Michael Senturia. The evening will open with an instrumental-only performance of Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp by Claude Debussy, followed by a panel discussion with Senturia; PSO’s Music Director, Peter Rubardt; and Ballet Pensacola Artistic Director, Richard Steinert. This discussion offers a rare opportunity to learn firsthand about the motivation of the program’s composer, conductor and choreographer. Then, guests will experience the beauty of dance set to live music featuring the complementary works of Senturia and Ravel.

For this enchanting evening, be sure to clear your calendar. This performance will take place on Thursday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pensacola Cultural Center. The Reserved Seating tickets are available for $20, and the Encore Package is $50 (this includes premium seating and a post-performance reception).
