The Lamplighter Academic and Mentoring Program, Inc. is thrilled to present the Pensacola Stompfest Invitational Step Show. This anchor dance/step event will display some of the finest performance steps/strolls from various fraternities, sororities and organizations from across the nation!

Pensacola Stompfest is a step show competition designed to provide members of the Gulf Coast community a unique experience that celebrates the art of stepping. This event will draw a wide variety of all Divine 9 members from numerous locations across Northwest Florida. The event will be a feature activity for Foo Foo Festival 2018!

Performances include:

  • Omega Psi Phi
  • Delta Sigma Theta
  • Alpha Kappa Alpha
  • and more!

This event will draw college students from the University of West Florida, Pensacola State College and collegiate alumni from across the region! Step Shows of this magnitude typically draw crowds upwards to 2,000. The fraternity/sorority market will add a dynamic experience to Foo Foo Festival that has yet to be tapped in to. There are over 4,000 African-American Greek-letter organization members in Pensacola that have yet to experience an event of this magnitude.

Hurry up and get on your feet! This event will bring in ten national collegiate step teams to a much-anticipated sold-out Brownsville Community Center on November 10, 2018, starting promptly at 7:00 PM. Registered teams will be invited to attend Foo Foo Festival events Friday, November 9, 2018, as part of the final weekend of Foo Foo Festival activities. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. VIP floor seating is available for $25. This event is guaranteed to sell out and is open to all ages!

Motown Madness Music Medley by Back On The Blocks: “An Evening of Sangin’, Dancin’ and Eatin’- THE SOULFUL WAY!”

Now in its fifth year, this music medley of Motown, blues, jazz, gospel, R&B, rock, and pop performed by national, regional, and local artists, and variety bands within a classic dinner club and evening party entertainment setting that celebrates the rich tradition and heritage of Belmont-DeVilliers and its historic contributions to the Pensacola “Chitlin Circuit”. Legendary greats such as Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong, B.B. King, Ike & Tina Turner, Ray Charles, James Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, and many others have all made their lasting impressions on the region. Featured entertainment provided by Motown group: Crystal Clear Band, Atlanta, GA.

You can’t miss the SOULFUL SIGHTS, SOUNDS and SONGS tribute to the “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin at Brownsville Community Center on Friday, November 9, 2018, 6:00 PM. Street Beats, Bands & Bar-B-Que by Back On The Blocks: “An Afternoon of Steppin’, Beatin’ and Eatin’- THE SOULFUL WAY!

“VACATION CULTURALLY” at this one-day outdoor entertainment music battle and jam session which occurs on stage, street corners, and band stand by local, regional and national musicians. Also in its fifth year, this event includes a Battle of the Bands Challenge as high school, college and variety bands strut their stuff, “TO THE BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUMMER!” Entertainment provided by: St. Mary’s Academy (All Girls) H.S. Marching 100 Band, New Orleans, LA; John LeFlore Magnet H.S. Marching Band, Mobile, AL; local favorites: Booker T. Washington H.S. Band, Pensacola H.S. Band, Pine Forest H.S. Band and other various musical entertainment. This event offers a cultural experience for national, regional and local tourists, current and former residents, music and art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, historians, military outlets, veterans organizations, and the cultural tourism traveler enjoying area attractions throughout the three-day Veteran’s Day weekend.
