West Florida Literary Federation (WFLF)

WFLF is delighted to present “You: The Writer” an interactive, hands-on workshop and a general presentation focused on memoir writing, songwriting and writing for social media. Come join The West Florida Literary Federation on Thursday, November 8, 2018, for the general presentation at Artel’s Gallery. We will feature events such as writing workshop events followed by a short musical break, writer readings/lectures, and a book signing.

Engage with three professional writers who emphasize the individualism in their own works, these established Florida and regional artists will actively engage both established and potential writers with their expertise in three distinct categories: memoirs, blogging/social media, and songwriting. This year the program features Katherine Clark (memoirs), Erik Deckers (blogging/social media), and Jerry Salley (songwriting).

Greater Pensacola Symphony Orchestra

See the Music, Hear the Dance
Thursday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. Pensacola Cultural Center

The Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Pensacola will join forces for a performance combining breathtaking dance with live instrumental music. Featuring Ballet Pensacola’s dancers joined onstage by a septet of PSO musicians, See the Music, Hear the Dance includes landmark Impressionist works from renowned French composers, including Maurice Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro. Carrying the French tradition forward is Golden Fish Under the Arched Bridge by a living American composer, Michael Senturia.

The evening will open with an instrumental-only performance of Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp by Claude Debussy followed by a panel discussion with Senturia, PSO’s Music Director Peter Rubardt and Ballet Pensacola Artistic Director Richard Steinert. This discussion offers a rare opportunity to learn firsthand about the motivation of the program’s composer, conductor and choreographer. Guests will then experience the beauty of dance set to live music featuring the complementary works of Senturia and Ravel.

General Seating $20
Encore Package $50 (includes reserved seating and a post-performance reception)
