CUBED Luminous: Outdoor Digital Art Festival

“CUBED Luminous” is a four day and night outdoor digital art festival consisting of a 12ft x 18ft LED cube and 16 laser projectors projecting on four 8ft x 8ft cubes located at the University of West Florida Historic Trust’s Museum Plaza in downtown Pensacola on November 8-11, 2018.

“CUBED Luminous” is partnering with the UWF Historic Trust, the UWF Pensacola Museum of Art and ACRE TV Artist-made Tele-vision to feature a diverse selection of digital and projection art from a combination of both invited and juried (open call) artists. This visually dynamic public art project will activate and illuminate the urbanscape of Pensacola and offer a myriad of opportunities for our community and visitors to enjoy the city and the dynamic visuality of both emerging and established artists alike. The outdoor digital art festival will also feature live performance by multimedia artists, live music from DJ sets to local and regional bands, as well as a Makers City Marketplace and a selection of food trucks parked along Museum Plaza.

“On Air with Doc Severinsen” with the Pensacola Civic Band

“On Air with Doc Severinsen” features the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson bandleader and trumpeter, Doc Severinsen in concert with the Pensacola Civic Band at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre on Saturday evening, 7:30 p.m., November 10, 2018.

Doc will be joined by trumpeter Cathy Leach in a program featuring several selections from his musical repertoire of jazz and television tunes. Today, Doc has not lost his flair for the outrageous fashion statement or his trademark wit. But his gregarious nature has never interfered with the fact that he has been one of the greatest trumpeters and musicians of the last 60 years, respected in the worlds of classical music, jazz, big band, and now even world music. In the end, Doc Severinsen has transcended his celebrity and rejoiced in his remarkable ability to simply play his trumpet as well as he can. Which has proven to be good enough for the millions of people who count themselves as his fans.

In addition, the Pensacola Civic Band will perform many familiar television theme songs from the Fifties until today in a rollicking concert that you won’t want to miss.

Tickets are $10 reserved seating. Tickets may be purchased online at Ticketmaster or at the Saenger Theatre.
