History of the Umbrella Sky Project

It all started in 2012 when Sextafeira Produções designed and installed the first Umbrella Sky Project in Agueda, Portugal. They suspended thousands of colorful umbrellas over the city’s narrow streets to form a tantalizing, urban art-installation. It drew people in and provided a canopy of shade for pedestrians. Since it’s debut, the Umbrella Sky Project has gained critical acclaim worldwide. And, with breathtaking views like that, it’s no wonder people travel from all over to see it.
