Ballet Pensacola is bringing out the kid in everyone with this year’s Foo Foo Festival performance: “Monster Mash.”

A Ballet Pensacola Children’s Series production, “Monster Mash” is specifically designed to provide fun for the entire family. Named after Bobby Pickett’s 1962 song “Monster Mash,” the show is based on the music and sci-fi creations of the 1950s and 1960s. Dancers will perform original choreography to upbeat tunes while wearing monster-themed costumes and makeup.

The performance features members of the Youth Ensemble, the top performers in Ballet Pensacola’s Academy, and will include guest appearances by Ballet Pensacola’s professional company dancers.“Monster Mash,” also has a very important message for its audience that despite differences people can come together to create something beautiful.

“Monster Mash” is being held at the Pensacola Cultural Center Courtroom, an intimate venue for approximately 125 people per show. Children are encouraged to sit around the performance area, allowing for a unique and exciting vantage point. Adding to the fun, the audience is invited to stick around after the show to meet the characters, take pictures and even enjoy snacks courtesy of the Foo Foo Festival.
