Pensacola Symphony Orchestra presents a free dress rehearsal for Awakenings, a concert celebrating the vibrant culture, rich historic roots, beautiful beaches and thriving downtown of Pensacola through stunning imagery and moving music.

At this working rehearsal, the orchestra will prepare for the evening’s concert. The concert features a stunning sensory experience as pictures from Pensacola’s celebrated past and present are projected just above the orchestra to create a visual concerto choreographed to the music of American Composer Joseph Curiale’s vivid piece, Awakening. This celebration of our national spirit continues with images of our national parks featuring Aaron Copland’s music from The Tender Land and an all-orchestral finale with Dvořák’s “New World Symphony.”

Out of respect for the musicians, we ask that attendees treat this working rehearsal as they would any evening performance, bringing only children who will be curious, attentive and inspired by this offering.
